Brock Junior High to Create Outdoor Learning Center
Brock Jr. High is planning to step into the future by providing students and teachers with an Outdoor Learning Center!
The places where learning happens can have a significant effect on how a student engages with a subject or even an idea. Learning outside of the classroom is a tool for teaching and learning which has been proven to raise achievement, improve engagement and behavior for all groups of students. An Outdoor Learning Center will provide students with challenging, exciting and different experiences to help them learn. Our vision of a completed outdoor learning center will consist of two formal classrooms, a reading area, water feature, greenhouse and a vegetable garden. All with a concrete walkway connecting them. By giving students the opportunity to get outside and experience nature, they can bring learning to life.
The OLC committee at Brock JH is in the process of designing and acquiring financial support to build our outdoor learning center. At this point we are in need of monetary donations. As we move forward we will post additional needs as they arise.
If you, your family or your business would like to provide funding for a table in an outdoor classroom we can display your name or business name on that table.
